A weekend. A traditional sailing ship. Plenty of water and time.
On board the Emma, it’s all about keeping it simple. No appointments, no obligations, no tightly scheduled weekend. Instead, there’s time to relax, unwind, and enjoy yourself. Time for good conversations on deck, new encounters, a book, a cup of coffee in the sun, or simply letting your gaze wander over the water.
And perhaps that’s exactly the luxury we sometimes miss in everyday life: having time.
Personal attention:
The days aboard the Emma follow the rhythm of the wind and weather. Rebecca and Stephan, the skippers and owners of the Emma, are with you the entire weekend. With their personal attention and hospitality, they make sure you feel at home on board and can fully enjoy everything that sailing and life on the water have to offer.
This weekend isn’t about getting there as fast as possible, but about the journey itself.
Sailing Area:
Our sailing area spans the IJsselmeer and the Frisian Lakes, two regions each with their own unique charm. In Friesland, you’ll discover stunning nature, picturesque villages, and unique mooring spots. The IJsselmeer offers plenty of space for sailing and invites you to visit charming harbor towns like Lemmer or Enkhuizen.
No sailing experience required
Whether you’re an experienced sailor or have never sailed before, this sailing vacation is perfect for everyone. This sailing trip is popular among solo travelers, couples, and friends looking for an active vacation in the Netherlands with plenty of time for relaxation and socializing. On board, you’ll meet people who are looking for exactly the same thing as you: a break from the daily grind, time on the water, and simply some time to yourself again.

Itinerary:
Embarkation: Friday, April 30, 2027, 8:00 PM in Stavoren
Disembarkation: Sunday, May 2, 2027, 4:00 PM in Stavoren
Friday evening: You’ll come aboard at Stavoren, settle into your cabin, and get to know your fellow sailors at a leisurely pace. We’ll kick off the weekend with a tasty snack and some quality time together. Then, together with Stephan and Rebecca, we’ll decide which route to take. The wind and weather determine our course, which makes every weekend unique.
Saturday: Cast off and hit the water!
After breakfast and a brief briefing on deck, we cast off. We’ll sail, relax, read, chat, and enjoy the view. You decide for yourself how much action or tranquility you’re looking for.
Toward evening, we’ll moor in a charming harbor town or on a small island in the Frisian Lakes. After a short excursion ashore, we’ll have dinner together, and you’ll wrap up the day however you like.
Sunday – Feel the vastness one last time
Wake up, have breakfast, cast off, and sail together one last time, enjoying the vastness of the water and making the most of your final hours on board. On Sunday afternoon, we’ll head back to Stavoren. Maybe a little tired. But definitely with the feeling: that was good for us.
Price per person in a shared cabin: 290.00
One-time STO-Garant fee per booking: 15.00
Price per person in EUR based on full board: includes overnight stays (bunk beds), meals and snacks, coffee, tea, water, guided tours, and final cleaning. Various beverages are available on board for an additional fee. Maximum of 16 guests on board—for personalized attention and a relaxed, social atmosphere.
The primary booker must be 21 years of age or older.
