Verena Waterland
My name is Verena Waterland, and I’m originally from southern Germany. As a child I discovered my fascination with sailing during a two-week trip on a traditional sailing ship.
Through close friends who owned their own boat, I got back into sailing as an adult. In 2009, I finally quit my job as a group leader at an after-school care center and started working as a crew member on a two-masted ship in the Netherlands.
Life on board, the connection with nature, the sailing, and the many shared experiences with our guests left a lasting impression on me.
I was able to put my educational experience to excellent use in this role. After eight years at sea, my family and I traded the ship for a home on land.
Since then, I’ve been working here in the office, promoting our beautiful and unique sailing ships and helping our guests find the right ship. I also share my experiences and impressions of life on board with great passion.
Stephanie Kröplin
Hello, I'm Stephanie Kröplin. I discovered the world of chartering and its ships many years ago. I met the love of my life on board a sailing ship during the Hamburg Harbour Birthday celebrations. I went on many sailing trips with him in the Baltic Sea. We had a daughter, took her with us and always organised our lives around sailing.
In 2022, we came to sail in the Netherlands. We lived in Hamburg and I came on board with our daughter for four months in the summer. In 2024, I left the big city of Hamburg and moved to a small town by the sea – Harlingen.
Since our move, I quit my job at the hospital to work in the sailing charter world myself. It is with great joy and enthusiasm that I tell you about the possibilities that a trip on a sailing ship offers.
Meiga de Vries
My name is Meiga de Vries; I grew up in Spain and have partly Dutch roots. The Canary Islands were my home. Eight years ago, I traded the ocean for the Wadden Sea, a region that truly fascinates me because of its ever-changing nature.
Water and sailing have always been an important part of my life. I studied oceanography and am still in awe of everything that happens in and beneath the sea. I’ve also gained extensive experience in the tourism industry and the charter sector, where I spent several years sailing with guests. I always do this with great pleasure! Connecting with people and sharing my passion for the water gives me a lot of energy.
I now live with my family on our own boat and enjoy life on the water every day. I want to share that feeling with our guests, to give them an unforgettable experience on the water.
