Summer Sailing Holiday for the Whole Familiy
This family trip on the Spes Nova is specially designed for families with (young) children up to about 16 years old. Single-parent families are warmly welcome. There is plenty to discover for older children as well, and everyone is invited to actively help sail the ship.

Sailing on the Wadden Sea
We depart from Stavoren and sail toward the Wadden Islands. Each day we decide which harbour suits us best, depending on wind and weather. Along the way, we enjoy true adventures such as drying out on a sandbank, searching for shells on the seabed, or spending a day on an island cycling, swimming, and enjoying nature.

The children have playmates with each other, and the parents also make it nice together with a snack and drink on deck. We make it fun for the children. So we don't sail for too long at a time, and we sail in such a way that the children can actively help with e.g. setting sails and steering.

Sailing on a big ship is a great adventure for children! As they steer the ship with the steering wheel they feel themselves growing. From the ship we see seals on the sandbanks of the Wadden Sea lying in the sun along the way.

The crew of the Spes Nova is used to young sailors, and knows exactly how to get children to help out safely, and how to make children feel like they are really doing something. For children, a sailing ship is a play paradise on the water. The Spes Nova is a child-friendly ship, with a good railing all around that is close at child height. There is plenty of play space inside and on deck. A large and cozy seating area is also located here.

Children's life jackets are on board, and while sailing, wearing them is mandatory. Of course, the experienced crew makes sure that children and parents are shown around on board, both inside and on deck. However, parents retain responsibility for the children on board.

But of course we also make it fun for the parents, with for example going on the island together and having a nice (after)dinner.

The price includes food and drinks. It is possible to bring your own drinks. In our trips there is no cook on board, we cook together (with whoever wants to help) and by mutual agreement. It is fun to do something together, and moreover we save the cook. So you don't pay him either. If necessary, groceries will be on board when you embark, and the crew will coordinate the shopping and cooking. The main booker is 21 years or older. Bring a sleeping bag or your own comforter.
