Sailing in Friesland
On this summer sailing trip, you will experience the best of the northern Netherlands. From our base on the IJsselmeer in Stavoren, we explore the Frisian Lakes with their calm waters, narrow canals, and picturesque towns like Sneek, Heeg, and Grou.
On the IJsselmeer, enjoy beautiful sailing days and visit historic harbor towns such as Lemmer, Workum, and Makkum.
For those seeking adventure, we sail further into the unique Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you can watch seals, experience drying out on sandbanks, and enjoy pristine nature. The islands of Terschelling, Texel, and Vlieland invite you to relax and explore in peace and quiet.
There’s plenty of time to swim, unwind, or enjoy a cozy drink on shore. A sailing holiday full of nature, freedom, and discovery—ideal for families or friends!
For Everyone - No Sailing Experience Required
Whether you are an experienced sailor or trying it for the first time, everyone is welcome aboard our flat-bottomed ship. Our experienced crew will happily teach you the basics of sailing, or you can simply relax and enjoy the views.
This interactive sailing trip is perfect for solo travelers, couples, or small groups looking for a special, active getaway in Holland.
On board the Middelsee, comfort and conviviality are central: the day begins with the smell of fresh coffee and a shared breakfast and ends with a drink in the evening sun. In between, there’s time to laugh, relax, and enjoy. Meals are freshly prepared on board—breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
Program
The crew will warmly welcome you on Sunday evening you with a drink. Over the following days, we sail—depending on wind and weather—across the IJsselmeer, through the Frisian Lakes, or into the Wadden Sea. You decide how active you want to be: help raise the sails, navigate, or simply relax on deck. In the evenings, we dock at charming harbors or quiet islands—perfect for ending the day with good conversation and a sunset drink.

Off board: Friday, 21 August 2026, 3:00 p.m., in Stavoren
Prices in EUR, based on full board, includes accommodation (bunk beds), meals, coffee, tea, water, guidance, bedding, towels, and final cleaning. Additional drinks are available on board. Maximum 14 guests for a personal atmosphere and individual attention. The main booker must be at least 21 years old.
