Sailing on the Tsjerk Hiddes
The moment the mooring lines are cast off aboard the Tsjerk Hiddes, the adventure begins. Together, the sails are hoisted, and the skipper ensures the ship stays on course. Even guests with no sailing experience will become true sea dogs in no time. No one will be bored on board, because once the sails are set, everyone can enjoy the view or grab a drink at the bar.
From the home port of Harlingen, you’re right on the Wadden Sea. The islands of Texel, Vlieland, or Terschelling are generally easy to reach during a weekend trip. You’ll definitely get that ultimate vacation feeling when you end your Saturday on a terrace with a view of the sea!
Large Groups
The Tsjerk Hiddes is ideal for family groups. But the comfortable salon and cozy bar also make the ship perfect for business clients: an active company outing lasting one or more days, a training session, a product presentation, or a meeting/brainstorming session in a neutral and inspiring setting.
Unique
De Tsjerk Hiddes is the only remaining three-masted stevenaak on Dutch waters. The ship’s home port is Harlingen. The Wadden Sea is therefore right around the corner. But the crew also knows their way around the IJsselmeer very well. All possibilities in terms of sailing areas are therefore open.
Luxurious:
The ship is luxuriously appointed: every cabin has its own shower and toilet. And the salon features a cozy bar and large windows, offering a fantastic view of the water and the surroundings.
History of the Tsjerk Hiddes
The Tsjerk Hiddes was built in 1881 at the Gebr. Jonker shipyard in Kinderdijk. Originally, the ship was a two-masted cargo vessel used to transport goods on Dutch rivers.
Since 1994, the Tsjerk Hiddes has been sailing as a passenger ship on the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer
