The Simmer fan Fryslân is an elegant galley ship that was built in 1932 as a sailing cargo ship. In 2003, the ship was carefully and meticulously converted into a comfortable passenger vessel, while retaining its authentic character.
Starting in 2026, this impressive three-masted ship will be part of our fleet. The ship is rigged as a barquentine and is operated by Joris and Rinske de Wit, who are also responsible for the ships Mare fan Fryslân and Leafde fan Fryslân.
Cabins and comfort on board
You will stay on the lower deck, where there are twelve spacious and comfortable double cabins (approx. 11–13 m²).
Each cabin is equipped with:
two single beds (which can be pushed together in most cases)
a desk
ample closet space
multiple electrical outlets
central heating and ventilation
Four cabins have an extra fold-out bed and can accommodate three people.
In addition, each cabin has its own bathroom with:
shower
toilet
sink
hairdryer
For your convenience, a safe is also available in the cabin. The portholes cannot be opened, but most cabins have a roof hatch for fresh air. Two cabins are also equipped with an additional ventilation system.
Onboard facilities
Onboard, you’ll find a cozy, nautically themed restaurant with a well-stocked bar. Carefully prepared meals are served here daily. The warm wood finishes and stylish decor create a pleasant and homey atmosphere.
In the forward section of the ship is the deckhouse, featuring an additional lounge and access to some cabins.
The wheelhouse is accessible via a staircase and offers seating for guests. This allows you to comfortably enjoy the view and the sailing experience even in less favorable weather.
Additional seating is available on the aft deck, so you can also relax outdoors in peace and quiet.
Wi-Fi is available on board.
