Robust
Sailing vessel the Hollandia is a robust tjalk that can be found on the water from mid-April to November. Due to her layout, her relatively shallow draught and her sailing characteristics, the flat-bottomed ship is excellently equipped for a wonderful adventure. The cozy interior on board invites you to socialize. There is enough space for 16 people to live here. The kitchen is strategically arranged and offers more than enough space for several people to work at the same time. Moreover, there is a 6-burner catering stove -with oven-, a spacious refrigerator with freezer compartment and there is more than enough storage space under the benches for your groceries.
Races
The tjalk Hollandia regularly sails competitions on the IJsselmeer and also on the Wadden Sea, so her knowledge of sailing and the sailing area is very great. Also, the sailing ship already has a few prizes to her name. This is reflected in the sailing trips that the Hollandia makes with her guests: night sailing on the IJsselmeer or Waddenzee, trying out just that one little drop-off or mooring and unmooring on sail, all of this when conditions permit. Knowledge of sailing is not necessary for the guests. They will get this automatically while actively sailing on board.
Team sport
Sailing on a tjalk the Hollandia is a team sport, setting sails together and doing various maneuvers together. Skipper/Owner Evelien Prins puts a lot of energy into explaining the various maneuvers there are because it is only really fun when you also know what you are doing. It is fun, challenging and exciting to sail on the sporty tjalk Hollandia.
