compact exterior sizes
With De Onderneming, you can sail from Lemmer on the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea, or the Frisian Lakes. Thanks to the compact exterior sizes and limited draft of this flat-bottomed ship, De Onderneming takes you to special places where larger ships cannot go. Falling dry on the Wadden Sea is also fantastic. The spacious cockpit not only allows guests to sit comfortably, but is also where the skipper controls the ship. This easily involves guests in the navigation of the ship and allows them to experience what it is like to operate a traditional sailing ship. Sailing experience is not necessary, as the crew is happy to guide you on board!

Sailing on pavilion tjalk De Onderneming is all about relaxation and conviviality. The spacious cockpit almost seamlessly transitions into the salon, creating a large seating area. De Onderneming is truly spacious and comfortable on the inside as well. Upon request, a photography workshop or yoga weekend can be arranged on board.De Onderneming is designed for young and old and therefore very suitable for sailing a family or friends weekend. The peace and space make you want to put your mobile phone away and enjoy quality time.
The ship is also excellently suitable for a company outing or teambuilding. The atmosphere on board is informal and ranks and classes evaporate, causing fresh winds to blow while you adjust your course and broaden your insights.
Layout
The galley has a gas stove with 4 burners and an oven. Two refrigerators, a coffee maker and plenty of pots, pans and tableware so that you can cook just like you do at home. Many culinary parties have taken place here in recent years!
Thanks to where it is located on board, in the cockpit, you are in direct contact with the outside and the seating corner. This seating corner consists of one long table with benches. This provides room for twelve people to have a good meal or a cosy evening.
The corridor leads to five double cabins with two single bunk beds and one ‘owner cabin’ with a double bed and a single bed above it. Every cabin contains a sink with cold running water. There is room to place your travel bag under the beds. Every cabin has a porthole. De Onderneming has two toilets and a separate shower.
History
Not much is known about the history of De Onderneming. It was launched around 1897 and served as a freighter at the time. The current owners bought the ship in 2008 and adapted it to all modern wishes and requirements. It is a fantastically spacious, light and fast ship. Recognisable by the long helm that turns around the raised aft deck, the pavilion. The high guard rail also makes the ship extra safe for families with small children. These days, thanks to its red hull, the ship is also known as De Rode Onderneming.
