Original
The tjalk Balder looks the most original of all the FrieseVloot sailing ships. The original purpose of the brown fleet ship can still be seen in the sturdy and robust lines. Apart from a comfortable seating area on deck, the sailing ship has been kept virtually original, so her rich history is still clearly present.
Robust
Downstairs is a spacious and cozy dayroom with an open kitchen. Here, too, you can see how robustly tjalk de Balder was built. The cabins are equipped with sink with cold and hot water and offer the comfort needed.
Wadden Sea
Due to its dimensions, flat-bottomed barge the Balder is not only suitable for the IJsselmeer and inland waters of Friesland, but also the Wadden Sea with its shallow channels is perfectly navigable with this sturdy tjalk. Skipper/owner Paul Bakker likes to visit this Unesco World Heritage Site to let his guests also share this piece of untouched nature with its islands such as Terschelling and Vlieland.
