Friesland as a community was born and developed from freedom struggles, individuality and cooperation. This makes our equal society run on reliability, a sense of responsibility and self-will. Authority here is not central, but rather collective. When it comes to collective interest, we work with all our hearts and put our shoulders to the wheel. With short lines of communication, we get a lot done. We can rely on each other: a word is a word, a deal is a deal. Quality goes without saying; only then is something good enough. This forms the basis of the Frisian open community.

These values are reflected at Schippers Coöperatie FrieseVloot. Our skippers have a passion for sailing on traditional sailing ships and operate from a common base. Together we are strong. Our gaze is clearly set on a sustainable future, with both feet on deck.

Our sailing ports are located all along the Frisian coast. We welcome you on board and would like to introduce you to life on board. With our sailing experience and knowledge of the water landscape, we will sail with you along the most beautiful places in the Netherlands. Our staff ashore are also regularly to be found on the water, speak from experience and are happy to respond to all your questions and wishes.

On board a sailing boat, you can completely unwind. Besides being actively involved in sailing, you will also relax. Conversations with your fellow travellers are different from those ashore. The skipper tries to get the best out of the group. Together, you sail the ship to the horizon. Far away, yet so close. FrieseVloot offers you that space.

Experience the vastness and silence of the Wadden Sea, one of the few places in the Netherlands where it can still get really dark. Not for nothing is the Wadden area Unesco World Heritage Site. Cycle past villages on one of the Wadden Islands. Do some real sailing on the IJsselmeer. And then stroll around one of the old Zuiderzee towns, which are full of culture. Don't forget to take in a terrace. Discover the intimate atmosphere of the Frisian lakes and canals and meet the locals.

Sailing is a particularly sustainable way of tourism. We try to be as environmentally conscious as possible. Partly with the help of contemporary techniques, we ensure the smallest possible ecological footprint.
