The ‘Ortolan' was built as a single masted clipper to transport cargo from countries that surround the Baltic Sea. Its rounded shapes make the ‘Ortolan' a fast and reliable sailing ship. Even in serious weather, this broad ship (six meters) breaks firmly through the waves. The comfortable huts have each a shower and a toilet, which make the ship excellent for companies or families. School children or students are also very welcome. On board we have leaping-poles and a swim ladder available. Because of its shallow draft you have the best possibility to leap poles or swim in the inner lakes. Today, the ‘Ortolan' charters for 20 years and visited the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, and Frankfurt.
