Successful Whitesun weekend FrieseVloot Vlieland

Saturday, the ‘Jeppe van Schier' passed the island Vlieland and anchored south of this island. This is an impressive place to dry out on the shallows and enjoy the nature. In the mean time, it became pretty busy in Vlieland's port after a perfect sailing day. From FrieseVloot, the ‘Ortolan', ‘Rea-klif', ‘Vriendentrouw', ‘Vertrouwen', and the ‘Hollandia' entered the port. Some guests stayed on board, whereas others discovered the island: a walking-trip along the shore overlooking the water between Vlieland and Terschelling, a little part of Noordsea's beach and back through the dunes to the east of Vlieland, with its cosy main street and cute little shops and restaurants.

Sunday morning, the course was put to Terschelling. The ‘Hoop doet Leven' from FrieseVloot was on this island too. A few ships headed for the IJsselmeer. Monday, the last day of this Whitesun weekend, the ships sailed back home to their ports. It was time to say goodbye and to make new plans for 2010. With tanned heads, and a suitcase full of stories, and back to office. What a weekend!
