"Small but brave". This definitely characterizes the Antonia Maria. Built for Zeeland's estuaries (in the southwest of the Netherlands, when they were still part of the open sea) and also built for the rivers Rotterdam, the ship had to be both tough and moveable. In 1974 the Antonia Maria was rebuilt at the famous museum shipyard ‘Kromhout' and became a sailing passengers' ship. Fortunately, the beautiful characteristics, which she had since birth, remained. Her dimensions make the Antonia Maria suitable for diverse sailing waters: She does not fear the Waddensea or the Ijsselmeer. Moreover, she moves agilely through the small canals of Friesland. The lay out of her rigging and deck make the ship easy to handle. The ship offers a comfortable, and at the same time intimate sphere. On board you find six cabins with each two berths. After she sailed in different waters and on various ships, the experienced skipper Josje Cuperus bought the Antonia Maria. It is her challenge to let you feel the magic of sailing. She also likes to share her knowledge of sailing with you and tell more about the historical backgrounds of the surroundings.
